About This Place

Gallagher's Pub & Grill in Long Beach, CA, is a vibrant bar & grill that perfectly marries the warmth of a classic Irish pub with the high-energy buzz of a sports hub, especially for 49ers fans. Located conveniently on E Broadway, this spot stands out not just for its inviting atmosphere but for an extensive menu that encapsulates hearty bar favorites alongside Irish-inspired comfort foods.

If you’re craving game-day excitement, Gallagher’s delivers with an electric environment filled with TVs broadcasting nearly every game, ensuring you won’t miss a play. Football Sundays here are legendary; the space buzzes with enthusiasm, laughter, and spirited conversations, creating a communal vibe that makes every guest feel part of the crowd.

The menu boasts an impressive breadth of flavors—start with shareable appetizers like the beer-battered homemade onion rings paired with ranch dressing or indulge in the Pound Of Chips, crispy Irish-style fries served with flavorful curry sauce. The signature entrees bring authentic comfort to the table: the Bangers, Mash & Onions feature two succulent Irish-style pork sausages resting on a bed of creamy mashed potatoes and grilled onions, all lovingly smothered in a mushroom white sauce that is nothing short of soul-satisfying.

Of course, their Fish and Chips garners particular attention. As several patrons have noted, the portion size and flavor profile can vary, but when it hits just right, the crisp golden batter encasing tender fish fillets is pure indulgence. It’s paired beautifully with tangy tartar sauce and perfectly seasoned fries, capturing the essence of a traditional British staple. For those seeking classic bar fare, the Gallagher Burger and California Burger, both served with fries or wedges, hit the dependable spot with juicy, well-seasoned patties and fresh toppings.

Chicken wings here—available in flavors like sweet chili or Buffalo style—are a go-to snack alongside an impressive tap list featuring Stella Artois, Blue Moon Belgian White, Guinness Draught, Blonde Ale, and more. The drink lineup shines during happy hour, which is widely celebrated for generous specials including buy-one-get-one deals and all-you-can-eat fish and chips on Fridays, adding excellent value for groups or casual get-togethers.

For something unique, the Bacon Jalapeño Wrapped Tots combine smoky, spicy, and crispy textures into one addictive dish, while the classic Philly Cheese Steak melts layers of flavorful beef and cheese for a satisfying bite. Not to be overlooked are the soups and salads, like the Brown Derby Cobb Salad or the fresh Gallagher’s Pub Salad, which provide lighter, crisp options amidst the robust mains.

Customer feedback reflects a spot that delivers on atmosphere, generosity, and flavorsome pub grub, even if some dishes see slight variation over time. The general consensus embraces Gallagher’s as a lively, no-nonsense gathering place where the food is hearty, the drinks are cold, and the vibe is unabashedly spirited. Whether you're settling in for a 49ers showdown, catching up with friends, or simply craving authentic pub classics, Gallagher's Pub & Grill serves a memorable experience that goes beyond just a meal—it’s a genuine taste of community and tradition in Long Beach.

Our first time here, my son and I were beyond impressed. The food was ample portions and tasted amazing. Very fresh and tasty! I told my husband how good it was and big fish and chips, so we decided to share and unfortunately the fish and chips was a lot smaller and tasted good but fishy, I think it was a different fish this time. So I'm not sure which fish and chips is the norm they serve, still good but my husband was hoping for the large fish and chips since I talked so highly about the restaurant. (Pictures of both Fish and Chips we had, to see the size difference)

Wings were ok, a bit crisp, average size, not huge. Ordered 9 piece, 3 drums, 6 flats. Sweet chili sauce was underwhelming, needed salt. Spouse had bacon wrapped tater tots. 6 for $11, a bit pricey. She said they were OK , doesn't everything tastes good wrapped in bacon? Saw they had all you can eat fish and chips all day Friday. Combine that with a happy hour drink special of buy one get one for a penny (beer and well drinks) Went there next Friday. Spouse said BEST fish and chips she has ever had. Comparable to stuff you get in England / Ireland!

During football Sundays, you seat yourself, it gets pretty busy, no other sports but football , it's a football watching hub for LA teams but most importantly a 49er hub, huge crowd vivid loud. Good place to watch 49er games. I ordered Dodger Blonde ales, LB Cali burger and old fashion Gallaghers burger. They come with fries/wedges. Typical bar food, nothing special.
